Just completed this project for my daughter who will marry in October. It’s my version of a Hope Chest which is a traditional gift from a father to a marrying daughter. I used various types of mahogany woods with ebony (the heart handle) and big leaf figured maple. Those woods were found in garage sale, barn sales etc.. all reused. It’s obviously a Krenov style case-work that I adapted for my personal desires. Those of you who have completed a similar work know that hanging those doors is no simple task, mostly luck! I got lucky with this one. I finished with tung oil and Brix wax and hours of rubbing. That’s all I ever use! Too lazy and I love the results. Off to FedEx now.
